Leaves and more leaves

Ever since summer ended we thought the worst was over.  Big plans to start new projects and feel good about progress has come to the realization that leaves are the bigges hurdle we face.

So Close

Work on the 13 and 17th tees was progressing nicely.  A few setbacks are always involved but for the most part things were moving along nicely.  Thirteen seemed difficult at the time, but good weather really allowed us to sod and finish all but the path, which we do always at the end f the project.  Seventeen tee started off the same way but man of man a little rain at the wrong time rand a holiday have brought things to a rapid halt.  Instead of finishing in 3 days it looks like we will need a week or two to wrap things up.

Helping Hand

Today we had to give a hand to the workers on the roof of the clubhouse.  Extra help was needed to move some steel beams around the project.  A number of our staff pitched in and helped get the job done.  Nothing fancy but a good job.  In the process, Trevor suffered a small misfortune, his ring, which started round found a new shape.  At least he still has all his fingers!

Slope work

Today we took advantage of some bad weather to start a project we have planned for awhile.  The conversion of the slope above the right side of 14 green from vines and weeds to a grass slope has begun.  The last few weeks you may have noticed our attempts to clean up the area.  Well today we laid the first few pallets of sod in hope to provide a pleasant and stable hillside.  This area will also act as a buffer for rainwater before reaching the creek.
